IDeA-Coordination

At the IDeA Centre, the development and learning of children with educational risks is studied interdisciplinarily. The coordination is responsible for networking, public relations, events, membership promotion and administration of the centre and serves as a unit of the Scientific Board.

About

The IDeA Centre is an interdisciplinary scientific centre of the DIPF and the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and the Sigmund Freud Institute. The centre serves to research developmental and learning processes in children within the first twelve years of life. Special attention is paid to children whose educational success is endangered by various risks. IDeA focuses on the analysis of individual developmental trajectories, the study of adaptive educational contexts for children with different learning prerequisites, and research on the professional competencies of educational professionals in daycare centres and elementary schools for dealing with heterogeneous learning groups. The members of the centre have expertise in the fields of psychology, educational sciences, psycholinguistics, neurosciences, various subject didactics, sociology and psychoanalysis, among others.

The IDeA Coordination is responsible for networking, public relations, and administration of the Centre and serves as a unit of the Scientific Board. The work area designs and organizes the centre events for both the members and the school practice as well as the interested public (especially families and children). The latter is addressed, among other things, by regular participation in the door-opening day of the "Sendung mit der Maus" and the Frankfurt Children's University. In the area of school practice, the Coordination Office is also involved in the Campus School Program Frankfurt am Main, which involves close cooperation with schools. Furthermore, the department organises and coordinates the IDeA program for the promotion of researchers in early career phases and develops it further. Part of the program is, among others, the funding of start-up financing for scientific projects, financial support for stays abroad, mentoring as well as various targeted events for scientific qualification and career promotion. The IDeA coordination is the first point of contact for all member concerns as well as the cooperation partners of the centre, the school practice and the interested public. The department works in close cooperation with different institutions of educational research and practice and supports the researchers of the centre in achieving the IDeA goals as well as scientific visibility and networking on a national and international level.
