EduTopics: ECER

The research topics of over 30,000 contributions to the ECER conferences since 1998 were identified for the WebApp "EduTopics: ECER" via machine learning, visualised and analysed according to their authors and EERA networks. The app enables individual explorations of the results.

  • The web app "EduTopics: ECER" allows to explore the contributions to the ECER conferences (European Conferences on Educational Research) since 1998. The computer linguistic machine learning method Topic Modeling was used to identify the research topics of the more than 30,000 contributions. The bibliographic parameters (author, country of affiliation and EERA network) of the papers were also analysed. All results are made available to users via various interactive visualisations, both individually (e.g. the number of contributions from an EERA network over the years), but also their intersections (e.g. how a topic has developed in different networks over the years). In this way, users can find out about current and past thematic focuses and trends individually and explore the corpus of contributions.
