Allocation Unit

The allocation unit ensures that the legal requirements of the public sector for procurements and the awarding of contracts to third parties are met. It supports tendering of external services, coordinates awarding and reviews procurement applications.

BBF Research

BETTER: Research-Practice Partnerships and Research on Transfer to Educational Practice

BETTER stands for "Bring Educational Research to Teachers and Teachers' Experiences back to Research". We investigate and support the transfer of knowledge and interactions between educational research and school practice.

Cognitive Development

For the development of learning, change processes at different time levels play a crucial role. Our lab investigates the multivariate dynamics of such processes with empirical studies on the intraindividual variability of cognitive performance and emotional wellbeing, as well as relevant determinants, in everyday and school contexts.

Development of Successful Learning

Particular difficulties in acquiring written language and mathematics increase the risk of children's educational failure. The diagnosis, prevention and overcoming of such learning and performance difficulties, e.g. through individual support, is a central part of the research in this department unit.

Diversity and Education

The "Diversity and Education" unit focuses on the role of various dimensions of diversity (e.g. gender or background) in educational settings.

Educational Computer Science

With its technical expertise and resources in the fields of portal technology, data management and software development, Educational Computer Science (EduCS) supports various DIPF activities and projects.

Educational Inequalities and Reducing Educational Barriers

The unit examines how inequalities in educational attainment arise and how they can be reduced. It also focuses on the digitisation of education.

Educational Measurement

Researchers of the research unit "Educational Measurement" investigate how educational outcomes and the effects of learning opportunities can be measures. To this end, it deals with the necessary methodological foundations.

Educational Monitoring and Reporting

The unit's projects monitor, analyse and interpret data-based developments in the education system and conduct indicator research for educational reporting.

Educational Structures and Reforms

This unit examines structural and organisational changes in schools, as well as administrative educational reforms in the school system. It investigates the intended and unintended effects of these changes on the quality and effectiveness of schools.

Educational Technologies

The EduTec Research Group is a multinational, cross-disciplinary team of specialists committed to incorporating Artificial Intelligence into educational science, as well as allied disciplines like psychology, pedagogy and didactics.

Events & Corporate Identity

The service unit "Events & Corporate Identity" conceives, plans and realises internal and external events of the DIPF and deals with the institute's culture and corporate design.

Facility Management

The unit comprises property management, the organisation of the reception desk, event catering and occupational safety.

Finance & Controlling

The finance unit is responsible for accounting and distributing external funding. It is in charge of controlling and reporting as well as commissioning respectively handling procurement and travel expenses.

German Education Server (Eduserver)

The German Education Server is a central guide to education in Germany and an information service for education worldwide. It offers access to selected internet resources from the federal government, federal states, universities, state institutes and research institutes.

Human Resources

The unit serves all the staff members at DIPF. It deals with fundamental issues concerning work regulations, compilation of job descriptions, work contracts and other work regulation agreements, validation of correspondence to all legal and collective labour agreement conditions for staff joining or leaving the institute, salaries or time recording and staff controlling.

IDeA Labs

The IDeA Labs are part of the IDeA Centre, where the development of children with educational risks is empirically investigated. The lab structure includes facilities, testing equipment, as well as personnel and serves to support researchers in conducting behavior-based and neuroscientific studies.
