College for Interdisciplinary Educational Research
The College for Interdisciplinary Educational Research (CIDER) was founded by six Leibniz-Institutes in November 2012 financially supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Jacobs Foundation; currently ten institutes are involved. Since October 2019, the coordination of CIDER is located at the DIPF under the direction of Prof. Dr. Florian Schmiedek. CIDER is an interdisciplinary programme for promoting early career researchers in the field of empirical educational research. It addresses postdocs of the following academic disciplines: Economics, Education Science, Psychology, and Sociology. The programme actively supports the building of an international interdisciplinary network by supporting young scientists, fostering their independence, and supporting interdisciplinary collaborations.

GRADE Center Education
The GRADE Center Education is an interdisciplinary research training group to promote early career researchers of the Goethe University and cooperating institutions. It addresses doctoral students and postdocs who work on research projects in the fields of educational sciences and subject specific pedagogies (didactics). The center activities focus on subject and method-specific events, mutual exchange, and networking as well as the scientific qualification of the PhD and postdoc candidates. Thus, various research projects on resources, processes, environments, and findings of teaching and learning are initiated, combined, and supported.
Since 2015 the GRADE Center Education is integrated in the university’s "Goethe Research Academy for Early Career Researchers" (GRADE). Among others is was initially sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) within a framework to enhance the quality of teaching at universities (till 09/2022). Since May 2022, the coordination of GRADE Education is located at the DIPF under the direction of Prof. Dr. Florian Schmiedek. Deputy Speaker of the center is Prof. Dr. Ilonca Hardy, Goethe-University Frankfurt.

Scholarship Programme by BBF | Research Library for the History of Education
The BBF | Research Library for the History of Education is a historical educational research institute dedicated to the history of education in Germany and its international contexts. Its foci are social and cultural historical aspects regarding the history of school and other educational institutions in the 19th and 20th century and the history of pedagogical and educational scientific discourse respectively its epistemological conditions.
To promote early career researchers in the field of educational history, the BBF offers stipends for a research visit to Berlin; the programme targets doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers. In exceptional cases, graduate students who are in the final stages of their course and would like to work with our comprehensive collections to complete their theses will be admitted.
A selection committee which also involves external researchers is in charge of deciding on the appointment of stipends. No reason will be given for the approval or rejection of an application. There is no legal right to being granted a stipend.
The duration and endowment of a stipend depends on the scope and type of a project, the maximum funding period is three months. It is also possible to apply for a partial stipend or claim travel expenses for a certain period of time.
For a maximum period of three months, the funding limit is 1,000 euros per month (stipend) plus 50 euros per month (material costs)
