A Student Assistant

10 hours per week
For 6 months with the possibility of extension

The place of employment is Frankfurt am Main, in the immediate vicinity of the Westend campus.

As part of the CORE project, we are looking for engaged, curious and motivated students who value independent work, attention to detail and a sense of responsibility. The project investigates critical online skills on the internet in relation to behaviors in online environments.

Your Tasks

  • Development and testing of hypotheses related to the CORE dataset
  • Datamanagement
  • Support in managing online surveys

Requirements

  • Enrollment at a German university, majoring in Computer Science or a related field
  • Fluent spoken and written language skills in German and English
  • Regular availability of 10 hours per week, including participation in a weekly team meeting
  • Good knowledge of analysis methods for quantitative data using machine learning techniques
  • Ideally, practical experience in the execution, implementation and evaluation of such methods/models
  • Good knowledge of data processing and data engineering, as well as working with relational databases
  • Ideally, knowledge of Python (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, ...) or similar frameworks

We offer not only exciting tasks in software development and data analysis but also a pleasant and stimulating work environment, flexible working hours, co-authorship on all publications related to your work, and the opportunity to write a thesis connected to the project. Payment is €13.50 per hour for Bachelor's students and €14.50 per hour for students with a Bachelor's degree and taking on corresponding activities. After coordination and onboarding, tasks can be performed remotely, provided a suitable workspace with internet access is available.
