ScriptaPaedagogica

ScriptaPaedagogica provides open access digitised texts on the history of education in the German-speaking regions.

About

ScriptaPaedagogica is a digital text archive on the history of education in German-speaking countries. It contains over two million digitised pages and is continuously being expanded by the BBF | Research Library for the History of Education. The collection contains works from the 16th to 20th centuries, with a particular emphasis on the 18th to 20th centuries.

The text archive primarily contains educational and religious education journals, reference works as well as school programmes and annual reports from schools. It also contains monographs, teacher directories, curricula, student journals and children's books as well as digitised documents from the archive.

The works are fully indexed down to the article level, allowing users to search by author and title. A large proportion of the works are available as searchable full text, with the full text of the remaining works gradually being added.

The digital copies can be freely accessed via the internet in both image file and PDF formats. However, due to copyright restrictions, a small part of the collections may only be made available on the BBF's premises.
