The German Network of Educational Research Data (VerbundFDB) operates the portal “forschungsdaten-bildung.de”, where educational researchers can search for research data or share their own data with others. VerbundFDB also offers information, training and advice on research data management.
Services for Educational Researchers
VerbundFDB offers various services to educational researchers:
- Finding and using research data and instruments: Researchers can use the online portal forschungsdaten-bildung.de to research studies, research data and instruments. They can use these for their own research projects, for qualification work or for teaching.
- Sharing research data: Researchers can share research data they have collected themselves or research instruments they have generated. These are made available to other researchers for reuse in compliance with legal and ethical requirements and subject to controlled conditions.
- Managing research data: VerbundFDB offers webinars and workshops and advises researchers individually on project-specific research data management issues. The website and publications provide information on topics relating to research data management, such as legal issues or the preparation and anonymisation of quantitative and qualitative data.
Partners in the VerbundFDB
The VerbundFDB is a network of research data centrers (RDC) and educational research institutions that jointly offer services for educational research. The partners exchange information at regular meetings and collaborate in working groups on selected topics in order to continuously improve the services. These include, for example, common standards for data curation, events to promote re-use and research data management services.
