Information Management
The information management unit hosts an interdisciplinary team which researches and analyses information infrastructures and searches for information – developing open science and teaching practices in educational research and related disciplines.
About
Research in the information management unit targets an improvement of information infrastructures and their usage, as well as aiming to support practices in teaching and science. In this regard, educational research is targeted.
Research is organised in projects and doctoral theses. Findings and insights from the studies are entered into the infrastructural development and the expansion of services offered by the Information Center for Education. Research addresses the areas of searching for information and information behaviour focusing on Open Science, Open Educational Resources (OER), Open Educational Practices as well as research syntheses, research data, science indicators and science transfer. Quantitative and qualitative methods are used from information and social science.
Research topics belong to research at the Information Centre for Education, chaired by Professor Dr Marc Rittberger. They complement the areas of infometrics, Open Science and information infrastructures. Themes are processed in close collaboration with the chair and other units within the department.
