Research Data Centre for Education The Research Data Centre for Education (FDZ Bildung) archives research instruments and audiovisual and textual research data and makes them available for reuse. In this role, it is a partner in the German Network of Educational Research Data.

Research Data from Observations and Interviews
The FDZ Bildung provides observation data (such as teaching videos) and interview data as well as associated materials. This includes transcripts, co-data and descriptions as well as audio and video data. The Research Data Centre's holdings amount to approx. 2500 audiovisual files as well as approx. 3000 transcripts, descriptions, guidelines, codes, bibliographies etc. from almost 30 projects.
Research Instruments for Educational Research
The FDZ Bildung provides questionnaires, tests, codes and ratings for educational research. In total, the FDZ Bildung hosts 55 scale collections with almost 7,000 scales, almost 40 tests and some original questionnaires that can be reused.

A focus is placed on school and teaching research, spanning audiovisual and textual data as well as research instruments (collection policy).
Data Access and Use
• Anonymised transcripts, coding and descriptions: Usage requires registration
• Original audio and video data: Usage requires registration and application with documented research interest
• Research instruments: Use for non-commercial purposes
• Test instruments: Usage requires registration and application
The research data and instruments can be used free of charge for non-commercial purposes. Compliance with the rules of good scientific practice is necessary, in particular regarding citation.
Partnerships
The FDZ Bildung is a member of the networks VerbundFDB and QualidataNet and works in close partnership with KonsortSWD, the subject-specific consortium for the social, behavioural, educational and economic sciences within the German National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). The FDZ Bildung has been accredited by the German Data Forum (RatSWD) in accordance with the criteria and quality standards for research data infrastructures.
